# GEMINI.md (Gemini CLI): 파일 위치와 도구별 읽기 방식

GEMINI.md는 Gemini CLI가 모든 prompt와 함께 보내는 컨텍스트 파일입니다. context.fileName을 설정하면 AGENTS.md나 다른 이름의 파일도 읽을 수 있습니다.

## 파일 위치

- 전역: ~/.gemini/GEMINI.md.
- 워크스페이스 디렉터리와 상위 디렉터리에 있는 GEMINI.md.
- 도구가 접근하는 디렉터리와 신뢰된 루트까지의 상위 디렉터리에서 필요할 때 검색되는 GEMINI.md.

## 형식

frontmatter가 없는 Markdown 형식입니다. Memory Import Processor를 통해 @file.md로 다른 파일을 포함할 수 있으며, 상대 경로와 절대 경로를 모두 사용할 수 있습니다. 파일 이름은 문자열이나 목록으로 context.fileName에서 설정할 수 있습니다.

## 우선순위 및 병합

파일은 전역 파일, 워크스페이스 및 상위 디렉터리의 파일, 필요할 때 검색되는 파일 순으로 로드됩니다. 모두 이어 붙여 모든 prompt와 함께 보내므로 어떤 파일도 다른 파일을 덮어쓰지 않습니다.

- .gemini/settings.json에서 context.fileName을 ["AGENTS.md", "GEMINI.md"]로 설정해 다른 에이전트와 파일을 공유하세요.
- 로드된 모든 파일은 모든 prompt와 함께 전달되므로, 매번 모델에 필요하지 않은 내용은 줄이세요.
- /memory show로 Gemini CLI가 실제로 로드한 내용을 확인하고, 파일을 수정한 뒤에는 /memory reload를 실행하세요.
